2020. What a rollercoaster of a year so far. Through all the craziness, I hope everyone is doing one of those little things that give a little boost of confidence or happiness because I know we all need it.
For me, being outside exploring the woods with my dog, lounging in the pool with my family, or going boating with friends are the best kind of recharge.
Unfortunately, I have very sensitive skin that tends to burn easily and as a person that loves my skin and loves getting my Air-Tan every week I do my best to protect myself ALWAYS.
Fortunately, for you, everyone at Air tan is on the constant lookout for peeling and burning because it is an Air-Tans worst nightmare.
It is so important to take care of your skin and I would like to preemptively debunk a few myths at the beginning of sunny season so you can stay bronze and stay healthy all summer long.
Did you know that sun burns actually damage your skin cells? This means the burnt parts of your body are completely different and will react to everything unlike your normal skin. Tans are no exception. Your burnt skin will soak up any solution differently than the normal skin surrounding your burn. Peeling skin is NEVER good to apply an Air-Tan to. Not only does solution take differently to peeling and burnt skin, but once that starts to peel off, so does your tan.
So, if you think about it, getting an Air-Tan on burnt and peeling skin, means you run the risk of having 3 or more different shades on your body. Normal skin, burnt skin, peeling skin, and new skin that is healing around that tan.
Our number one piece of advice is to always protect yourself from harmful UV ways. I mean, that’s why we do what we do! We love giving you that bronzed glow you desire without causing any temporary or permanent damage to your body. Lather up on that SPF, wear long sleeves, a hat, sunglasses, and find some shade while enjoying summertime or taking that vacation. Remember, Air-Tan is always here for you and you don’t NEED to spend hours basking in the sun running the risk of burning yourself.
If you think you have any questionable spots that may not be ideal for a tan, just point them out to your technician! We will always be open and honest with you because we are here to make you look fabulous and stay healthy!
